Gift idea for the word nerd in your life: Typewriter key rings from Mama Can’t Sing. I picked out the three shown up top (and the tie, from a different vendor) at the Brooklyn Flea a few weekends ago; kinda want to go back & get more.
I love this gorgeous yellow globe from Graham and Greene. It’s so bright and modern. If only I had a study or an office. (I turned my “office” space into a dressing room.)
We were chatting at Soho Grand (our, um, new temporary office?) yesterday about furnishing our new dumbo loft (not this one, but in the same building, facing the Watchtower). I chimed in: “We need globes. Because, you know, we’re going to go global.”
This one would work.
Puma has partnered with The Fuse Project to completely redesign the packaging for their shoes.
A team spent 21 months studying different boxes and packaging schemes, searching for the most efficient, sustainable way to get shoes to consumers.
They finally came to the solution of foregoing a box altogether, and instead using a special bag and a cardboard sheet.

Adorbs!
(Well, except for the chocolate one — kinda reminds me of an Oompa Loompa’s torso :)

(although, how many ashtrays do these people have?)

WANT the neopolitan-flavored chairs [aka these…I think]
after almost 3 weeks of deliberation — and the conclusion that none of my current empty journals were just right — I finally bought this notebook (by paperchase at borders) for my first night of writing class. $10 ftw!
Honestly? It looks like it could be (500) Days of Twee, a movie about people with fake jobs who live in impossibly well-appointed apartments with huge walls made out of blackboard.

I loved the decor in both Summer & Tom’s apartments. Unrealistic? Probably (esp considering Summer’s admin assistant job), but I’d rather see a ridiculously well-appointed, somewhat-reasonably-sized* apartment than a ridiculously expansive loft that is clearly beyond the means of the character who lives there. Also: Chalkboard walls are not that difficult or expensive! Mine cost $50 for a gallon of tintable paint + my time.
*I don’t remember them being ginormous, but I could be wrong. And, are L.A. rentals as expensive as NYC’s? That’s probably a dumb question, and yet I feel like my friends who live in L.A. are not as real-estate-stupefied as we are here.
