My friends call me Mitch, except for the ones who call me Michelle. Professionally I go by “Michelle L. Dozois” since there’s another Michelle Dozois out there; if you’re looking for a Pilates video, visit her website instead.
I live in Battery Park in NYC. Before that I lived in the East Village,Murray Hill and on the Upper East Side [click to see the technicolor paint jobs I did on each apartment]. Before that I’d always lived in Massachusetts: Northampton, via Amherst, via Haverhill.
After 5 years of being a kiddiemag editor, in 2010 I became the first hire at a startup dating website called HowAboutWe, where I’m an editor for the blog.
Some things I like include organizing, writing, over-analyzing, photographing, lifehacking, list-making. Also: magazines, typography, home & product design, and carbs & cheese. And puppies — two in particular, but also all of them.
Some things I don’t like include all raisins (yes, even Raisinets), cilantro (ick, soap), and black licorice (I mean, come on).
When I was little I told my parents I couldn’t wait to grow up and be the person at the supermarket whose job is to organize the soup. Hence the blog name.
